Sunday AM 10:30 – 12:30
“For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.”
1 Thessalonians 1:8
ESV
We are a joyful community of Christians - rooted in Scripture, centered on Christ, led by the Spirit.
Rooted in God's Word
At Shiloh Basin Community Church, we joyfully proclaim the Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God, the very breath of His Spirit given through faithful servants. Scripture is not only our foundation but our framework—every line pointing us to Jesus Christ. He is the cornerstone, the head, the shepherd, the bridegroom, and the purpose of the Church. In Him, through Him, and for Him all things exist, including this very outpost of His Kingdom.
Mission
Our mission is to joyfully exalt in God's glory, faithfully exposit the Gospel through bold and loving preaching, intentionally equip God’s people for lives of worship and service, and continually extend the reach of God’s Kingdom in both word and deed. Shiloh Basin Community Church is not merely another place to gather. We are a community called to embody the grace and Truth of Christ in the world.
Grace Filled - Gospel Driven
We hold fast to the gospel of salvation by grace through faith—an unearned, undeserved gift from God. Though believers still wrestle with sin, we are not condemned. Rather, we walk in the freedom of forgiveness, learning daily what it means to live by the Spirit, not by the flesh. Our lives are not marked by perfection, but by transformation, rooted in grace and guided by truth.
Empowered & Equipped
The Holy Spirit indwells, empowers, and teaches every believer. He eqquips us with Spiritual gifts that reflect God’s creative and generous nature. Every member has a role, every gift has a purpose, and every act of service is an offering of worship. Through baptism and communion, we celebrate our identity in Christ and the unity we share in His body.
Shiloh Basin Community Church exists to reflect God’s glory and proclaim His love, with open hearts, grounded truth, and unshakable joy.
We are a people set apart, yet sent into the world as witnesses—messengers of hope, ambassadors of reconciliation, and joyful heralds of a risen King.
Leadership at Shiloh
Matt Bagwell serves as the pastor of Shiloh Basin Community Church. He is led by the Spirit, and has a heart full of grace, grit, and gospel-centered joy. Once a skeptic, now a shepherd. Matt’s journey from atheism to faith has shaped his passion for meeting people right where they are, with empathy, truth, and unwavering hope in Jesus.
A graduate of Liberty University (B.A. & M.A.), Matt brings both academic depth and practical experience to ministry. Whether preaching, counseling, or serving at weddings and funerals. Matt’s heart is always to point others to Jesus with joy, humility, and sincerity. Matt’s aim is always the same: to point hearts toward Christ with humility, joy, and sincerity.
Matt is deeply devoted to Terah – his wife and best friend of 10 years, and their three awesome young-adult kids. He’s a loving father and a faithful husband. He’s also enjoys a good theological discussion over coffee with great conversation, and genuine fellowship with friends.
Matt’s story isn’t neat and tidy, and that’s why he connects deeply with others. Raised in a home where faith and doubt often shared the same table, he’s been forged by both pain and grace. Matt knows what it’s like to wrestle with big questions. He has a heart of compassion for people walking through hard places, because he’s walked them too.
His favorite verse is Romans 12:2 because it reflects his own transformation and the invitation he offers to others: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Pastor Matt is one who is being daily transformed by the grace of God – and joyfully inviting others to the journey.
Elder Scott Brownlow
Scott Brownlow serves as our devoted elder at our small, country church nestled in the very community where he was raised and still calls home. Scott serves wherever he’s needed—whether leading, encouraging, or lending a helping hand behind the scenes.
He’s a dedicated husband to his beloved wife, Chanie, and a proud father to three energetic boys. As the owner of a local business, Scott not only works hard to support his family but also to bless the community he loves.
Known for his fun-loving spirit, genuine care for others, and deep passion for Jesus, Scott lives boldly for the Gospel and shares it wherever he goes. Loved by many, his life is a genuine reflection of joyful service, courage, and faith in Jesus Christ.
Truly, Scott is like the man in Psalm 1:3, who is “like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.” Rooted deeply in Christ, his life overflows with joyful service, courageous faith, and the kind of steadfast love that impacts those around him.
